Karawhiua – Inquiry Movie !

Task Description : Today is the last day of term 3 and I have finally completed my movie ! This term our korero is “Karawhiua, Give it Heaps” This basically talks about our fitness and to put in all the hard work in sports. Team 5 we were focusing to learning something new ! In groups of 2 or more we got to create our very own movie. In my group there was Taisha, Eleni, Tumoe, and Aniqua ! Group name was TETA ! My group went through ups and downs, but our group did well! Task Description: In the morning my literacy class had to say our speeches !  The moment we’ve been waiting for ! When my name got called I felt like walking out of that exit door ! *wink wink*  As I stood up I could feel my heart race each step I took.  I was telling myself, “You can do this!”, “Get it over with!” These thoughts helped me throughout my speech and just like that ! I finished ! As I went to sit down everybody gave me applause and I felt like I was in the skies now that everything was over ! 

My speech topic was overcoming fear and I chose this speech because it can relate to everyone, even at that moment when we all had to say our speech. One thing I could improve is my eye contact, I need to memorise my speech for me to be able to have eye contact with everyone ! But overall I am happy with my results !

Man from the South – Respond to Text

Task Description: Today for literacy I have completed my response to text ! The book we read was called, Man from the South. This book basically talks about a man who was a bit psycho in the head and does this bet with random people, where if the lighter works he gives them “his” car. If not he cuts a finger off. The more I read the book the weirdo things get ! Check the book out !

Task Description: Welcome to my blog ! Today for literacy, my literacy class was to read a book “The Glass Boy”. We had a response to the text to complete, and once we were finished we could move onto creating our very own collage !  While creating it we had to think about the author’s purpose. The text was that people can struggle with things and not even show it ! I hope you liked my collage and enjoyed this post !

The Hitchhiker – Play

Scene:  The Narrator drives to KFC drive thru and sees a hitchhiker. The hitchhiker asks for a ride, but the narrator drives past him.  The end will shock you !

Narrator: Is driving to KFC and sees hitch hiker

Hitchhiker: Sees car drive past and asks for a ride

Narrator: Drives straight past hitch hiker

Hitchhiker:  Hitchhiker gets annoyed, but continues to ask for a ride.

Narrator: Looks at the hitchhikes, then drives off while eating their food.

Hitchhiker: Runs up to the car like a maniac. “Hey, I need a ride!”

Narrator: Gets scared. “GET AWAY YOU RATTY MAN !”

Hitchhiker: “I’ll give you anything!” The man pleased

Narrator: Hesitated.. “Well, do you have any moneyy?”

Hitchhiker: Sees a random man with money, “Boo !” Steals money. “I got some moneyy”

Narrator: “Well.. then give me the moneyy”

Hitchhiker: “You’re getting your moneyy!”

Hitchhiker: Gets in the car.

The two both ate KFC together and were now best friends !

 

Task Description: Today, for literacy we are reading a book called ‘The Hitchhiker”. We were to read through the book and find out what each character trait was. For example, The hitchhiker was a sneaky, dishonest, and likeable man. The reason I think this is because I inferred and identified the character, which means to find out about the character! Once I finished the book and the Response to Text that was given, my friend and I were to create a scrip and scene. Check out my script above, and tell me what you think !

 

A Real Steal – Inquiry Drama Movie

Task Description : This term, for Inquiry our korero is called ‘Transformers’. NOT the transformers you are thinking about right now, but the one that talks about drama plus acting. In team 5 we were put in different groups and was to pick any play of our own. We chose a play called ‘A Real steal’, this play is about a robbery who comes to steal paintings but unexpectedly did a horrible job at robbing. In my group there is Mama’d, Neomi, Hailey, Kensi and I ! I played as an art critic and I think I did a great job at it. My group went through ups and downs. We practised everyday, made sure we all had our costumes and props ready until the very end we had to preform ! I am so proud of my group, even though we had hard times we still got things done ! Matariki Pixel Art – Cybersmart

For Cybersmart we were to use google sheets and learn how to create an art work I am showing right now. Every colour has its own letter, and every time you press and enter you can draw whatever you want. We had an option to do whatever we wanted but I decided to do a Matariki themed art since Matariki was up soon. I enjoyed this and it was an easy task ! 

Book Trailer – Boy at the Back of the Class

Task Description : Today I have completed a book ‘Boy at the Back of the Class’ This book was amazing ! I enjoyed every single bit of it and you will too ! This book is about kids in 5th grade who helps the new kid Ahmet who is from Syria. A war is held there and Ahmet is a refugee kid. Make sure to read this book and tell me your thoughts in the comments ! 

Sharing Others Photo – Cybersmart Challenge

Task Description : For today’s cybersmart challenge we are learning how to take photos with other people. My first photo was a picture of my beautiful self ! My second was a photo of me and my girly teacher !  Third was a photo of me and my silly friends. And last was me and my famous mate !!!
